How SayStay works

From guest inquiry to direct booking.

SayStay gives independent properties a clear, controlled process for configuring their information, testing responses, serving guests, and reviewing booking activity.

A five-stage process

Configure, test, connect, serve, and improve.

Each stage keeps the property’s approved information and owner oversight at the center of the guest experience.

1

Add your rooms, pricing, policies, and property knowledge.

Owners or managers enter and review the source information Joy will use. The property controls and approves this information.

  • Property description
  • Rooms or apartments
  • Occupancy
  • Rates and seasonal pricing
  • Amenities
  • Policies
  • Check-in and check-out information
  • Local recommendations
  • Frequently asked questions
2

Test how SayStay answers and recommends rooms.

Testing helps the property validate Joy’s answers before activating live guest communication. It improves readiness without promising every possible future answer.

  • Ask sample guest questions
  • Review Joy’s answers
  • Correct property information
  • Test room and policy questions
  • Check tone and clarity
  • Refine information before serving real guests
3

Connect WhatsApp, SMS, or email.

Channel setup may require the appropriate account, number, or sender configuration for the property. Each channel keeps its own guest experience while using approved property information.

WhatsApp

Connect the appropriate business account and channel details for conversational guest inquiries.

SMS

Configure the property’s messaging number and sender details for guest text conversations.

Email

Configure the sender information used to receive and respond to longer guest inquiries.

4

Guests ask, choose, and reserve.

SayStay understands the request, checks dates, recommends an available room, collects booking details, records reservation activity, and provides confirmation or supported payment-link steps. Human judgment remains under owner control.

Monitor bookings without managing every conversation.

Owners can monitor conversations, reservations, and escalations from the dashboard, then update rates, policies, availability, or property knowledge whenever needed.

Practical answers

What owners need to know.

Clear guidance on information, intervention, reservations, and testing before activation.

How does Joy know what to say?

Joy responds using the property information and rules configured and approved by the owner or manager. That source information provides the foundation for answers about rooms, amenities, rates, policies, and the guest experience.

What happens when information changes?

Owners can update rates, policies, availability, amenities, and other property information. Future responses then use the revised approved information.

Can an owner take over a conversation?

Yes. Owners can review conversations and intervene when a guest needs personal attention or a decision from the property. Routine assistance supports the team rather than replacing owner judgment.

What happens when Joy is unsure?

A conversation can be escalated or reviewed instead of treating uncertain information as fact. The property can then provide guidance and update its source information when appropriate.

How are reservations handled?

SayStay can guide the inquiry, check configured availability, record reservation activity, and provide payment or confirmation steps according to the property’s setup.

How does the owner remain in control?

The owner approves property information, configures rates and policies, reviews the dashboard, intervenes when needed, makes updates, and can refer to activity records across the guest journey.

What should the property test before activation?

Test the situations guests are most likely to raise, then include less common questions and escalation scenarios to check clarity and owner handoff.
